My weekly exercise schedule varies a lot depending on what I feel up to each day. Running used to happen about 2-3 times each week. Usually in the mornings, and also with a longer run over the weekend when I had more time and could run later in the morning.

Now that I’m pregnant, things are a little different.

I find myself running just once a week, consistently, and no longer early in the morning.

I have a new favorite time to run.

That time is at lunch.

I find my lunch hour to be the perfect time to run for so many reasons.

  • I can be productive when I normally wouldn’t be
  • The lighting is perfect – either sunny or overcast
  • It’s not freezing cold
  • Not too warm since we’re into fall weather
  • I get an energy boost mid day
  • Did I mention it’s light then?

Yeeeeaaaah, I really don’t like running in the dark and cold now. I feel like I’ve turned into a wuss!

Maybe it’s because I don’t have anything I’m training for so I don’t have to run in the morning, but it’s just much more difficult to get out there.

Oh and the whole getting sweaty then going back to work without a shower thing… well a plus of being pregnant is that I can’t push myself as hard during runs so the sweat is kept to a minimal. Plus it’s not too hot in November, whereas during the summer if I just walked outside during lunch I was practically sweating.

I’ve gotten much, much better about prepping for my lunch time workouts, so I hope to share what all goes into that soon too!

Do you run/workout at lunch time (if you have a lunch hour)?

Hope Friday treats you well! I’m looking forward to a weekend with no plans… those don’t seem to come around very often so when they do I cherish them. What are you looking forward to?

I don’t run much as my ankle can’t tolerate it very well. But mid day is certainly my favorite time when I do!

    Have a great weekend!

I wish I could run at lunch…its probably my preferred time to run, too. For all the same reasons!

I think I am going to run around lunch today too! During the summer, it was always early morning before it got too hot. But like you said, it’s too cold and dark now in the early morning. Glad you’re enjoying your new lunch hour run!

I’m glad you are still running! Sometimes it is nice to switch things up! Occasionally, if I don’t have class, I’ll workout at lunch time 🙂

Me too. I hope to keep it up as long ad I can and it’s fun… Which it still is fun 🙂
